Ayurveda; a sister science to Yoga

Ayurveda is a sister science to Yoga.  In Sanskrit, Ayu means life and veda means knowledge.  It advocates wellness of an individual through balance with self and nature.  Jaya Ramamurthy is a Clinical Ayurveda Specialist from the California College of Ayurveda.  We plan to ask Jaya to provide a Introduction to Ayurveda through "Eating with the Seasons" this fall.  Please watch for the newsletters and information here on our website.

A Series: Hips and Shoulders/Functional Mobility and Strength

These series of classes will begin by assessing the flexibility/balance of the hip muscles and shoulder muscles.  When these muslces have "off-balance" patterns, many of our everyday movements which are already repetitious and demanding, cause us to use our "core" improperly, or not at all.   Eventually this causes distress to hip joints, the spine and shoulder complex.  The techniques that you will learn in the first five classes will help you "manage" your issues and doing just these classes will be of benefit.
