200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

The program is an intensive-study for those wishing to enhance their own personal knowledge of Yoga.  You will be prepared to practice and teach Yoga safely, compassionately and become successful in sharing your passion.

This program is broad in the scope of style of yoga.  You will meet esteemed teachers of Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar and Vinyasa and Power Flow.  Gentle Yoga, Seniors Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga are also practiced and studied.  Your personal style will emerge and flourish!

 This program is recognized by the Yoga Alliance.  Upon completion, you will receive a certification from Core Bodyworks, and will be accepted by the Yoga Alliance for registration.

 

  • Cost: A $100.00 (non-refundable) deposit, plus the total cost of: $2250.  Save 10% if paid in full October 31, 2012. (savings of $225.00).

We recommend up to one year of yoga experience with an teacher prior to beginning the program. Professionals in related disciplines will be considered with less.  An interview, after submitting your application will also be required.

The program will meet for nine weekends during the months from  January-October. These nine, three day weekends, are mandatory, with only one make-up weekend available. This extended period of time allows for time to absorb and process material, practice, and share the experience teaching to your peers and in a community Yoga class.

Instructors:

The program director, Lisa Browning L.M.T., E-RYT 500, Certified Personal Trainer, has been in the health and fitness industry for over the last 25 years. Her strong background as a therapist, anatomist, and trainer will give a strong foundation to the physical practice. She has studied and practiced yoga for the last 11 years.  Her first certification was with Doug Swenson in 2002.  Then to achieve the registered status with Yoga Alliance, she completed  the 200 and 500 hour courses of study with Sue Hopkins, at  Etowah Valley Yoga, Cartersville.  Time was spent in Asheville with Stephanie Keach, Ana Forrest and many years at Atlanta Yoga.   Her passion for yoga and diversity will allow for breadth in the physical and philosophical studies, as well as incorporating many other talented individuals to help guide the students through the course of study. Doug Swenson, is a master yoga practitioner, philosopher, poet and dedicated health advocate, and surfer! He is known around the world, as is his brother and first teacher David Swenson. Jaya Ramamurthy, Clinical Ayurveda Specialist, California College of Ayurveda. An advocate of SLOW foods – Seasonal, Local, Organic, and Whole. She teaches self-care through daily and seasonally appropriate routines, food, and herb therapies.

Gina Minyard, certified Anusara Yoga teacher, RYT 500.  Gina's deep practice and study has made her a profoundly strong force in the world of Anusara Yoga as well as to many here in the Atlanta area.

Sue Hopkins, E-RYT 500, Registered Yoga Therapist, and owner of Etowah Valley Yoga.  Sue has been immersed in the study, lifestyle and teaching of Yoga for many years.  She is Iyengar influenced and specializes in Yoga Therapy and Yoga Nidra.

Barbara Kumara is certified by the Chopra Center for Well Being as a Primordial Sound Meditation and Seven Spiritual Laws Instructor.  She has been teaching meditation in the Atlanta area for over ten years.  She works with individuals and organizations to learn meditation to enhance clarity, quality and life-balance.  Barbara also created "Soul Driven Business"; a workshop that represents an integration of her years of business consulting and her respect for the intuition of the heart and the wisdom of the soul. barbara@spiritofmeditaton.net

BHAKTI MESSENGER – Kirtan, a traditional Indian form of call-and-response chanting. Our real-world home base is Atlanta, Georgia (USA), and since the group was formed in February 2009 we have been bringing kirtan to various yoga studios and spiritually-based venues in the city and surrounding suburbs.

*these exceptional individuals were a part of the 2011 program.  We hope that they as well as others can participate in 2012.

A $100 deposit is due with application submission. The tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if the applicant is rejected by the school before enrollment. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if requested within 5 business days of submitting application to the school. Once 5 business days have elapsed no refunds will be given. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days.
