Meet Our Instructors

The studio was established in Marietta, GA, by Lisa Browning in 1999. With over 40 years of combined experience in the health and fitness industry, the focus of the studio is to learn and share the study of movement.  The Pilates system, many types of Yoga, and Tai Chi form the basis for the classes, private and therapy sessions.   Lisa, along with all of the instructors, continue forward thinking approaches to physical change, injury prevention and balance through a mind/body centered system.  The staff stays sharp with continuing education courses and associations with professionals and master teachers in these fields.

Lisa Browning

Lisa, low lungeWith a background begun in college, Lisa has been studying the body, and movement for over 30 years.  Competing in  triathlons and running brought her to massage therapy.   As a massage therapist, while helping other athletes, she always looked for ways to understand and help the body accomplish physical goals, create and maintain wellness.  After those first 10+ years, running one of the first Sports Massage clinics in the Atlanta area, she found that understanding movement as well as physical training she would be even more equipped to assist people in their health and fitness goals.   She was trained by Romana Kryzanowska, a student of Joseph Pilates, at her center in NYC.  She then began studying yoga in 1999, and became a certified personal trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine in 2004.    In 2008 Lisa took the 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training course at Etowah Valley Yoga, and following it directly with  a 500 hr. program, and is now a 500 hr.-E (experienced) Yoga Alliance recognized instructor.  While yoga is integral to her lifestyle; Lisa finds joy in trail running and competing and playing at SUP (stand up paddle boarding).  Whether you take her yoga class, Core Functional Training, or are trained personally by Lisa, there will be a strong focus on working on your weaknesses, following a mind, body, and spirit approach and “play”; with a goal to always move like you were a kid again.

Kelly Crider

kelly criderKelly began studying yoga with a home practice over eight years ago.  After many years of treating people on her massage table, her beliefs led her to study the movements that led to some of the problems that she was seeing.  She was certified through Core Bodyworks in 2013, and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 hr.  Kelly has a knack for being complete and intense in her teaching skills, breaking things down on a beginner level with exceptional grace.  This skill does not get in the way of her mischievous personality of joking and having fun in her classes.  She is an integral part of the staff at CBW, you can read her full bio on the massage therapy page.
