Lisa Browning began her yoga study at Atlanta Yoga practicing Ashtanga yoga, and with Avril James, learning Iyengar influenced yoga in one on one study and practice. Lisa’s first “certification” was through Asheville Yoga with Doug Swenson in 2004.
To adhere to the standards for The Yoga Alliance, Lisa obtained her 200 hr and 500 hr trainings at Etowah Valley Yoga in 2007 and 2009, with Sue Hopkins. Since then, she has trained to the level of 500hr. E, Registered Yoga Teacher, recognized by the Yoga Alliance. CBW became a Registered Yoga School in 2010, with three graduating classes (200 hr.) since.
The Yoga program at CBW is well rounded. We have a strong base in working with seniors, and have two instructors with a specialty in this area. We teach a strong foundation of alignment of the body and breath work. Mediation is recognized in most of our classes. We often offer specific meditation and yoga nidra classes as well. Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a common style practiced at CBW, along with general hatha, Yin and gentle yoga. Please read the instructor bio’s to get acquainted with our teachers, their styles.
