GENTLE & RESTORATIVE
YOGA CLASS
FRIDAY 4:30-6:00 PM
Gentle and Restorative Yoga follows history and principles of Hatha Yoga. It is a less dynamic approach. Poses may or may not be aided with props. The focus on breath and concentration allow for a deeper relaxation, along with fully restorative yoga poses that create physiological responses beneficial to health and stress reduction. This class is especially good for those with limited movement.
This class will be taught by Jane deAlbuquerque, and will require a “sign-in”. It is the same price as any other yoga class, and if you already own bolsters, please bring them with you

Introducing T'ai Chi & Qigong at Core Bodyworks
T’ai Chi and Qigong are possibly the oldest group exercise forms on the planet. Originally used to train soldiers for battle in ancient China, some of these movements have been practiced in the same way for centuries.
Clinical studies have shown the gentle, fluid movements in T’ai Chi enhance muscular strength, flexibility and stamina while reducing stress. Improved immune function, balance, agility and posture develop with regular practice. Memory is improved as the brain is challenged with the order of the movements. T’ai Chi facilitates the flow of chi (qi), the life force energy that circulates throughout the body, subtly but consistently helping the body maintain optimal health.
We currently teach a modified Sun style which is suitable for anyone, regardless of fitness level. It is easy and enjoyable to learn, bringing with it many health benefits safely and quickly. Many practice this form for the sheer enjoyment of it. Others practice for its many other benefits including relief of back and joint pain, and improvement of overall health. Please wear comfortable clothing to class. Footwear is optional. T’ai chi is traditionally done standing, but this form may also be done seated or lying down.
